ABOUT US

Tanelec Limited was established in 1981 and is today the leading manufacturer of Distribution transformers, Power transformers, electrical switchgear, metering units, line materials & accessories in East and Central Africa, serving regional utility companies and private sector. Tanelec Limited is also the predominant provider of distribution and power transformer refurbishment and repair service in the region boasting the largest and most equipped repair center.

 

Tanelec limited is part of TransCentury, an investor in power and infrastructure projects. By virtue of being part of a large group of industries, Tanelec limited is able to offer a complete power distribution solution, including supply of conductors and cables.

Tanelec Limited is headquartered in Arusha, Tanzania and has facilities and operations in: Ndola and Kitwe in Zambia; Kampala in Uganda; and Nairobi, Kenya. In the past 5 years, Tanelec Limited has regularly supplied new distribution transformers and provided refurbishment and repair service to utilities in the region.

Tanelec Limited manufactures distribution transformers and specializes in 11kV and 33kV distribution transformers with ratings ranging from 5kVA to 10,000kVA. Tanelec Ltd is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 Certified and has a Quality Assurance and Quality Control team that ensures compliance with set standards.

Tanelec Limited has a rated transformer manufacturing capacity of 14,000 distribution transformers per year at its factory in Arusha. Tanelec Limited can repair up to 500 transformers per month/6,000 units per year.
